FW/1 passes 1,000 downloads milestone!

Framework One, now at version 0.7.7 thanx to the continued hard work of team member Ryan Cogswell, today surpassed the milestone of a thousand downloads!

The project site itself has had almost 15,000 visitors since its launch in late July!

I'm continuing to work on the documentation (and thanx go to Dutch Rapley for spotting a typo in my latest round of updates - now fixed) and hope to have the Reference Manual completed in the next few weeks so that I can declare a formal 1.0 release of the framework before year end.

Several users already have production web sites running on FW/1 which is very exciting. I hope to pull together a list of FW/1-powered sites for a blog post in the near future!

I'm going to be rebuilding corfield.org with FW/1 soon - and switching from my ancient BlogCFC + Fusebox hybrid to Mango Blog as well) and I will host various FW/1 demos on the new site once it's up and moved (yes, I'm moving to a new server as well - oh joy!).

I hope to have news of the FW/1 plugin for Mura soon as well. Pat Santora of Blue River said it was close to release when I spoke to him last week.

Kerr's Gravatar I'm looking forward to the 1.0 release! I know I've personally upped the hit and download counts on the FW/1 project site, and hope that there is good uptake amongst the CF community. I believe there is a relative dearth of projects like this in the CF community, so it's exciting to see more people getting behind the effort.

FWIW - I work in a large corporate environment, with CF8 (soon to be 9) as our main content delivery technology. I developed a "web portal" system for our developers about four years ago, and at that time had to make some undesirable concessions (read "CFC? I have no idea what's going on?!?") to acquiesce to the then powers that be. While it has served our needs well, it now supports over 50 developers and our needs have changed a lot in the ensuing time. I believe there is a lot to be gained by use of a CoC type framework like FW/1. I like the fact that it's lightweight, which is consequently what keeps me from going in the direction of the much heavier alternatives. I'm looking forward to more to come!
